Our Assisting Hands Home Care team was proud to join the community for the Alzheimer’s Walk at Masonic Homes in Union City, supporting an important cause while connecting with local families, caregivers, and community members.
A Pet-Friendly Place to Connect
Our office staff hosted a Pet Zone, where walkers and their four-legged companions could stop by for pet-friendly swag and a little fun. We even created a selfie photo booth complete with costumes, giving attendees and their pets a chance to capture some memorable moments from the day.
Of course, the pets were more than happy to help make our booth a popular stop!
Sharing Practical Support for Families
The day was also an opportunity to share something meaningful with families caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Our team demonstrated the hand-over-hand technique, an approach that can help involve a person in their own care rather than simply completing a task for them.
Techniques that encourage participation, patience, and connection complement the dementia care approach we bring to local families, with an emphasis on dignity, familiar routines, reassurance, and meaningful engagement.
Proud to Be Part of Our Community
We were honored to support the walk, help raise funds for an important cause, and spend time alongside so many people (and pets) committed to making a difference for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s.
At Assisting Hands Home Care Fremont, being part of the community means showing up, sharing resources, building relationships, and supporting families both inside and outside the home. We proudly serve families throughout Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, and surrounding Bay Area communities.
Thank you to everyone who walked, stopped by our Pet Zone, posed for a photo, or simply came out to support the cause. We loved being part of such an amazing day!
